Dublin, Ireland
Emer Fox lives in Dublin and comes from a musical family. Her earliest experience of music was listening to her father play the accordion in the kitchen. As a young child along with her younger sisters and brother, she began performing at venues around the city.
Growing up, she learned to play the guitar and continued singing through her teenage years. Involvement in musical drama followed, along with an appreciation for the songwriting craft of songwriters like Sammy Cahn and Ira Gershwin.
She likes to tell stories in her music and given that Ireland is going through a tough time at the present she has penned a number of protest ballads. But music is also about fun and Emer enjoys writing in the genre of swing, jazz and gospel.
She has had a song shortlisted for Eurovision and a number of songs reached the finals of The UK songwriting contest. Emer is currently collaborating with a number of Irish artists on original material for new albums.
