In Greek mythology, Echo (ɛkoʊ/; Greek: Ἠχώ, Ēkhō, "echo", from ἦχος (ēchos), "sound") was an Oread who lived on Mount Cithaeron who not only had a beautiful voice, but also was a very eloquent speaker. She was one of Zeus’ secrets keeper. Zeus loved having affairs with beautiful nymphs and often visited them on Earth. Hera (Zeus’ wife and goddess), became suspicious, and came from Mount Olympus in an attempt to catch Zeus with the nymphs.
Echo had a mission when Zeus used to visit them: to sing and sweet-talk Hera in a form of distraction, in case Hera would descend from the Olympus and set foot on earth. By trying to protect Zeus (as he had ordered her to do), Echo suffered Hera's wrath, and Hera made her only able to speak the last words spoken to her.
After the curse, Echo spied a young man, Narcissus, while he was out hunting deer. It was love at first site. She immediately fell in love with him. The more she looked at the young man, the more she longed for him. Though she wished
