Star's End (http://starsend.org) is a legendary long-running ambient and spacemusic radio show broadcast on WXPN-FM in Philadelphia. I co-hosted and co-produced the show from 1984 through 1993, along with (among others) the show's current host, Chuck van Zyl.
Chuck does a great show, but he tends to favor artists in the tradition of the melodic sequencer-driven spacemusic which was the cutting edge of electronic and ambient music when the show was created in the mid-1970s. My shows were always more drony and abstract, yet still (I hope) appropriate for a show whose characteristic artists have always been ('70s-era) Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze.
I may post other mixes I've made, but the ones labeled "Star's End Annex" were made with this show in mind. The sets try to strike the same balance among the various components of the Star's End sound. I hope you enjoy them.
