New York, United States
The United States Department of Agriculture, defines a Food Desert as an urban neighborhood or rural town without ready access to fresh, healthy and affordable food. These communities are populated with fast food chains and convenient stores that do not provide adequate levels of nutrition. Residences are forced to live off of meals that should only be supplemental and not a basic staple. Dr. KC Yarborough is very passion about this issue because he feels that it is connected to so many other issues.
