First got a guitar on his 15th birthday, has been trying to learn to play one ever since ! Got side tracked to electric bass in 1966 when given the chance to join a band that actually played gigs, not just practice in the garage.
On leaving art college in the summer of 1969 went straight into a professional soul/reggae band (with a record deal), which job lasted all of three months ! So formed his own band with friends, playing similar stuff. That lasted a year, but then got the bright idea of persuading the guys to play 50;s rock'n'roll instead. Some were up for it and some weren't. But somehow got a band on the road in 1970 and haven't stopped playing 50's rock'n'roll since, albeit in a series of bands under various names, but essentially the same band, same vision !
