Over 10 years ago in Houston, TX, I caught the "Flamenco bug". I was lucky enough to have found a little "Rincon Andaluz" that was pure Flamenco haven. The owner/guitarist/singer was kind enough to make me some tapes for learning and for listening;also got to take some Flamenco lessons with Tibu La Tormenta (may she rest in peace), who was equally firey in her footwork when in pants-role La Farruca and willowy expressive in the languid Sequiriya. I can't find all of the tapes, but do remember driving my beat up little mustard colored Toyota, listening and snapping and tapping to the music everywhere i go. Here's a guide to accents in 12/8 meter. Beat numbers NOT in parenthesis are accented. Sequiriyas are slow,majestic and sorrowful. Buleria starts on beat 12.
