Gordon Taylor's reign at the Professional Footballers' Association could yet run into next year amid concerns that there have been further delays in starting an independent review into the crisis-hit organisation.

Sportsmail have been told the terms of reference have yet to be agreed while Sport Resolutions, the independent arbitrators enlisted to conduct the QC-led review, were not even aware until Friday that the political strategy agency hired to work alongside them is no longer involved.

A spokesman for Portland Communications said this week that their contract did not extend beyond the PFA AGM in March but when this newspaper asked Sport Resolutions on Friday for an update on progress, we were referred back to Portland.
