Doug Carnegie was born in Pontiac MI (just north of Detroit). He first became interested in music in the fifth grade, playing saxophone and later bass guitar. At age 17, Doug attended his first underground rave in Detroit at the now infamous party area under the Ambassador Bridge. From there, his passion for electronic music grew as he experimented with friends' turntables and frequented local music stores to study Roland Grove boxes and synthesizers that he dreamed of someday acquiring.
Upon moving to Florida in 2001, DJ Doug quickly began expanding his already massive music collection. He purchased his own set of Technics in 2006.
After attending Miami's Ultra Music Festival and witnessing the popularity of electronic music in South Florida, he vowed to take part in shaping the area's up and coming music scene.
Doug's career exploded after pioneering the local DJ Nights in Naples, Florida and he has since played at underground events all over South Florida.
