Microbial pink eye typically produces more mucous or pus than viral or sensitive pink eye. Microbial pink eye can be treated with antibiotics recommended by a doctor. There is no therapy for the infection and generally you just need to allow it heal on its own. Viral pink eye should go away within a week or 2 without therapy. Are there other measles signs, like a red, blotchy breakout or a high fever (over 104 degrees Farenheit/40 Celsius)?
