Boston producer and performer, Donnie Martin (a.k.a. DOHMA) delivers a powerful statement by taking his long-developed roots in music fundamentals and incorporating them into a vast electronic world. Before employing the DOHMA moniker, Donnie spent 25 years as a classically trained violinist until he discovered the radically unlimited experimental nature of sound design and underground electronic music. DOHMA is the dark, mercurial, cynical side of Donnie that is fueled by the broken world in which we live offering listeners an escape through sound. His unique live sets are intense explorations in sound and rhythm often combining multi-layered loops of mangled samples and disjointed percussion combined with live sound sculpting and violin looping. Through his sound, DOHMA seeks to entice listeners with heavy, driving, lush and colorful soundscapes while guiding them on an aural journey.
