The techno equivalent of thrash metal, the extreme end of rave music and as exhausting to mix s it is to listen to.
Not only defined by the tempo but often the shape of the kicks and production styles used. Personally I consider anything over 250bpm to fall in to the Speedcore bracket. May genre snobs will say I’ve thrown Terror and Frenchcore in there as well. Screw you this is my mix.
Starting at just over 250bpm and finishing somewhere around 290bpm this mix is not for the faint hearted. I’ve tried to throw together a range of tunes to give a full picture of the style. Its not just mindless beats, in fact the opening track is as brilliantly produced as any record you will find in any genre, a truly beautiful piece of music that just chugs along at bone shattering speeds. There’s also two different tracks that sample the film Flash Gordon..... go figure??
Oh and I also sample up that Virgin Trains advert for the intro. Lol.
