Tim Carter cover image

San Francisco, United States

Tim Carter hails from San Francisco and has been DJing for over a decade. He counts the progressive house series Global Underground among his early influences. A summertime trip to London and a visit to a Tyrant night at Fabric changed all that for him. Lee Burridge and Craig Richards rocked his world in Room 2, and Carter became a devout disciple of the duo’s techy, dubby, trippy sound.

Tim spent a number of years in New York City, honing his craft at a low-key monthly party in the East Village he hosted with a couple close friends. Like any music enthusiast, his style has morphed over time as he discovered new producers, labels and DJs that fascinated him. A techy, melodic element always features in his sets, though he favors a range of styles from fuzzy, lo-fi deep house to the occasional electro breakbeat robo-funk track. A thoughtful selector, Carter goes for a wobbly undercurrent to his mixes, but regardless of what he’s playing, you’re bound to dance.
