My music is a resource for the listener, a connection through time and space and a source of positive inspiration.
There have been points in my life at which I have felt alone and misunderstood. I was raised in a family where serious mental health issues were rife and witnessed the lack of resources my parents had in their darkest times. Even as a child, I recognised my mother’s suffering and wanted to help her. Later in my teenage years I was isolated and didn’t fit in, and experienced severe bullying. I hated school and authority, believing the people in charge to be misinformed and that the school system lacked purpose and inspiration. It was at this point when music became a powerful resource for me, and a source of euphoria and escape. In music, I could find the form of expression I needed and begin to process and understand the deep range of emotions I was experiencing. I suddenly felt I had friends in the records I listened to, people who would be there for me whenever I needed
