Born and raised on the mean streets of St. Elizabeth Jamaica, Dj Rayne, AKA Rayne Vassell, started his musical journey when he was 15, when he discovered a Reggae record collection and a turntable belonging to a friend of his Father. It was at this moment that Rayne Vassell knew he wanted to be part of 'The Scene'.

He first became interested in the music scene in 2001. In 2000, aged 14, he hustled the streets while going to school bought him his first set of decks. At the age of 17, he was already being touted as Jamaica's answer to Reggae & Dance-hall top DJ/MC. He did various warm up sets before the doors opened in clubs hosting major names such as Tony Matterhorn, Swatch, and many more. In 2008, he achieved his big break when Dj Rayne realized he was big in the game. It was after this point when he started getting gigs at big events such as ATI and Dreams Weekend.

After receiving several offers, Dj Rayne joined Triful Toones Int., who helped distribute his first internet release,
