Internationally known as DJ Papis, Mamadou Niang was born in Bamako, Mali in 1984. At the age of 16, Papis moved to Spain with his family. While living in Europe, he developed a great passion in music, namely in the hip hop, funky, soul and R&B genres. He then devoted his attention and time to pursuing a career as a DJ. Papis names DJ Jazzy Jeff as his greatest influence, particularly admiring his style. His beginnings were difficult. Growing up in a impoverished country, his dreams of worldwide success were far from reach. However, with Papis' constant concentration, hard work ethic and help from DJ Marco DaSoul, he progressed quickly in the music scene. In 2004, he started playing professionally in nightclubs, such as the Zoo Club and Otto Zutz. Since then, DJ Papis has become globally recognized, from playing in such clubs as Catwalk, Bikini and Opium MAR BCN in Barcelona, to the Londoner in Lloret de Mar and the Harenda and Platinum club in Poland. Today, DJ Papis dreams of continu
