DJ Neshamah

Getting her start in the San Francisco punk scene in early 1994, DJ Neshamah has been pushing the definition of what a DJ can be since the start. She made the move to the darker end of the music spectrum four years later. The same time that she started to spin goth and industrial, she started spinning what is now called steampunk. She is still regarded as one of the early steampunk DJs. She is also referred to as the San Francisco Bay Area goth scene's Godmother or Gothmother for years. And even to this day she pushes the line of what a goth DJ is by mixing all kinds of music into her sets and using elements of hip-hop and house DJing with her classic goth style to start something new. Her sense of humor and innovative style has sent her all over the U.S.A. and the world. Even after seventeen years, she still is finding that little unknown treasure in all kinds of styles of music.
