Like the gold found in his birthplace, the Westrand of Johannesburg, DJ Moruti’s music roots lie underground. Inspired by the Ultimix sounds of DJs Dino Bravo, Kent and Euphonik, DJ Moruti started out 11 years ago on Virtual DJ. As an avid fan of the art, DJ Moruti strengthens his DJ craft by attending workshops and DJ Courses including Soul Candi Institute of Music, Numark DJ Academy and most recently, Growing OGs DJ Academy. DJ Moruti’s own sound communicates the merger between his passion for music and theology with a keen desire to be one of South Africa’s first ordained DJs. ‘Moruti’ means priest in Sesotho, a native South African language.
