Hi, my name is Justin Rankin. I am the CEO and founder of J-BIRD Productions . My family always listened to music and danced around. I began to wonder how music started and how it came together. While living with my grandmother at a very young age we would listen to the old records she had. She had so many of them. One of my fondest memories is when I asked my grandmother if I could listen to music and she brought up her old record player and her records and we listened to music for a long time. Grandma’s house was all about music.
After living with grandma we got our own place in Detroit, Michigan. The house was still full of music. When cleaning my mom would turn on the music to listen to while she cleaned. Sometimes she would ask me to dance with her too. While living here my mom bought me my first CD, it was Michael Jackson; I listened to it all the time. While at a summer camp when I was around 8 years old I got my nick name.
