DJ Hazina Girl

Music has been a constant in Hazina’s life since childhood. Growing up in Canada as a first-generation kid with Angolan, Congolese, and Kenyan roots, her musical identity was shaped by the rich sounds of her African heritage, alongside the diverse influences of the world around her. She began building her record collection as a teenager, nurturing a lifelong love for discovering, collecting, and connecting with music.

Recently turning that passion into a DJ career, Hazina approaches every set as an opportunity to share the music she loves and introduce people to something new. Currently DJing in Tokyo’s queer district, she moves fluidly between genres, weaving together unexpected sounds to create immersive musical journeys. Rather than honing in on a genre, Hazina is a curator of sonic experiences, creating the soundtrack for the moment and making a dance floor where everyone belongs, especially the girls, the gays, and the theys.
