Born 15th FEBURARY 1983 in ST. MARY, Jamaica, NICHOLAS VASSELL aka DJ JOE BLAZE began a life on the rough streets of a political torn environment plagued by gang violence and political tribalism. Like many other inner city youngsters, JOE BLAZE escaped the harsh realities of life in the words of the many great poets of the reggae culture such as the late great Robert Nesta Marley, Peter Tosh, Garnet Silk amongst others too many to name. He began his music career as a DISC JOKEY being influenced by the likes of FATHER, GRANDFATHER, STONE LOVE, ELECTRIC FORCE, METRO MEDIA, amongst many other current sound system of the sound fedaration community, some of whom may still have an influence on his music.
