As I was spending time in Chicago whenever possible in my youth, the music was so different, than what i was used to in the early 90's in the midwest. I embraced "Chicago sounds", with its dance/r&b blues overtones and rich musical history at a young age , since i played instruments most of mylife..It was apperent djing and remixing with turntables was the only way to achieve that precise sound. It was a very familiar sound but diff. in its own way, basslines and artists(remixing)was a blossoming thing in the early late 80s 90s and beyound. Underground music seemed to celebrate that sound and feel. AND SO IT BEGAN.
