I'm an old school DJ that refuses to use beat matching technology, mainly because it didn't come easy to me to learn to beat match.
I used to play every week on the radio in NZ on a station called BFM doing a show called THE WARNING. It was the best experience, playing to an internet audience as well as local was humbling and surreal and opened the doors to many club and dance party sets.
Now I play for friends parties and festivals in Australia, not saying I wouldn't come and play for you, I just suck at self promotion and prefer to let the beats do the talking.
I started out playing breaks but for some reason the masses don't appreciate that genre anymore, so now i've leaned towards funky house and tech house with a healthy dose of old school mash ups thrown in.
I still have all my breaks vinyl and throw it in wherever I can, because breaks is the business!
