The Miami roots enabled Diamond Dog to expand his music interests into the southern and Carribean flava such as reggae, soca, & dancehall along with the regional sounds such as Miami Bass & southern hip hop. Back in NY, the expansion was completed through playing more classic rock and country music, which was/is popular in the area.
