I’ve been a long-term fan of the Balearic beat sound ever since I first came across it while growing up. Unfortunately, I was too young to experience it fully at the time, so I spent years learning about the tracks and the original DJs who cultivated it.
I bought my first pair of Technics back in the ’90s and spent countless hours hunting down original pressings, playing them out at various residencies — particularly in the South West’s bar scene. Eventually, like most of us, I had to go digital and say goodbye to my trusty 1200s and vinyl.
I still enjoy the art of DJing, playing private parties now and then, and continuing my love of music.
