long story short, i love house music, and at some point i decided i wanted to really know about the who what when where of house music. through this study, i have deepened my appreciation the entire genre in such a deeper way now, thanks to these Black (often queer) musicians in Chicago and beyond, like Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, and many more included in this playlist. I know in my heart that I owe these tremendous souls a lifetime of gratitude, and it is my hope to make sure that more people honor, love, and respect the true origin and culture of house music. i don't know where i'd be without them.
