DJ Alabai hails from the Smiling Coast of Africa. Born from Senegalese parents in Latrikunda, The Gambia, he developed a strong interest in music and technology since an early age. He started mixing with individual cd players connected to a mixer through different channels. Then, the first big events as a DJ in the Gambian nightlife in the 2010s. He became a promoter for local talents and a well-known selector of reggae, dancehall, hip hop and afro music. His migration experience brought him to found an organisation working for the development of The Gambia that collaborates with European and international institutions. In Belgium since 2022, he is now on a quest to bring quality Gambian tunes to the attention of a broader audience.
