I started DJ-ing when I was only 11 years old. After DJ-ing over 20 years
in various clubs across the Netherlands, I finally reached a point where I wanted to go back to the core of Dance Music. Deep analyzing the music that gave me “chicken skin” I concluded a few things: it always comes down to the beat and the bass-line which makes you want to dance to a song. The rest seems less relevant. So I started analyzing all the songs which I liked starting from my childhood until the dance music created today. I concluded that the dance music of today is highly influenced from historical dance music from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Not that much has changed on this level.
In my ‘on stage techno performance’ I strip down Dance Music of all time to the point where you can ‘feel it’ : the beat and bass-line! No vocals and melody line will be heard in this set! It is only loops from beats and bass-lines. A minimal techno set!
