DJ DeLeau's interest in music started (as most DJ's) in his early teens.
From the age of 10 he started remixing songs with a tape deck. His curiosity with transforming sounds came from recording a conversation between his father and a friend. Soon he tried this with real songs. At the time he was interested in soul and funk music. Listening every Thursday evening to the soul show (Ferry Maat) he soon acquired a taste for artist like EWF, Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald, Herbie Hancock etc. Mixing these songs gave him a lot of pleasure but at the time it was all for fun.
At the age of 12 he got a drum kit from his parents and soon he was playing drums in a rock band. After some years he ended up in a band playing funk and disco music and at the height of his drum career he combined all styles including fusion jazz. In the late 90's he was asked to become the lead singer in a disco cover band (they already had a drummer) and from this point onwards he tried to perfect his vocals. Although
