dude quick question if you could orient me in the right direction: looking at buying a dj controller for beginning mixing, mainly dnb but also old school funk disco groove... got my eyes on the denon mc4000. mainly for the price tag butbalso the very long pitch. as i do have a bit of a travelling lifestyle i would not investvin the mk2 now. hope yoi re not a hardcore vinyl defender and that you can give me some feedback ! thanks a bunch in advance. all the best.
I love vinyls and that's how I started - and I still think that everyone should learn vinyls at some point. But we're in 2017 and the things have changed, so I'm totally not against controllers - in fact, they allow you to do some things that you can't do with vinyls. So go for it man! Denon mc4000 should do it, you can also go for something cheaper like Numark Mixpro to get started. The only thing is that all these controllers have a sync button - and I really recommend learning how to beatmatch. Nothing wrong with sync really - it allows you to concentrate on other things, but beatmatching is the basic dj skill, so learn it as some point - preferably on vinyls :)
