Houston, United States
DJ DoubleOh45 is a San Francisco–born, Houston-based producer and DJ focused primarily on house music, from funky, vocal and disco to deep, tribal and acid, with occasional excursions into breaks, UK garage and drum & bass.
He came up in Houston’s late-’90s rave scene as the main DJ for Dance Junkies and a promoter with Afterdark Productions, playing fast, technically precise vinyl sets for crowds in the thousands.
From 2008–2013, producing as DJ 0045 / 0045, he released music on Special Recordings, Uniform Recordings, Peak Hour Music and PitchBend, including a limited-vinyl bootleg with TDBZ released by 6Blocc.
Now producing as DJ DoubleOh45, his current music combines classic drum machines, 303s, vocal-driven arrangements and live-leaning bass and guitar. His mixes emphasize his own original productions alongside the house, disco and electronic music that shaped his sound.
