DJ Maverick got into raving in 1990/91 and started buying tunes while still at school. He taught himself to mix and started playing at friends parties soon after and it wasnt long before he was getting asked to play at larger parties in warehouses, railway arches etc. In 1993 he and some 8-10 of his friends set up the infamous D.V.Ant Sound System. Maverick played the hardcore/jungle sets and the other djs played techno, breakbeat etc. The D.V.Ant crew put on some legendary raves in legal venues too such as the "Its All Bollox" parties at The Academy and The Mass Club in Brixton, a D.V.Ant nite at The Scala in Kings Cross, and two parties under their Trojan banner also at The Mass. Hundreds of raves and 5 years later in 2000 Maverick and the D.V.Ant crew took a 35k Eskimo rig to the Legalise Cannabis festival in Londons Brockwell Pk and easily had the best and loudest party 3 years running!! He has played at events around the south of England
