DJ Linksy... aka DJ Link.. aka DJ Disciple.
Didn't have a musical up-bringing or much musical influence as a kid. My first real influence was around the age of !5 when a friend (who's stepdad was a DJ) passed me a reggae/dancehall mixtape. It was like nothing I'd ever heard, it had a real rawness to it with horns, sirens an gunshots going off all over the place and an MC throwing little lyrics and shouts in here an there. There was something about that tape that has always stayed with me. Soon after I was introduced to Bob Marley by my older sister and I was hooked.The music and lyrics lifted me above the hard times and gave me joy in the good times. From there on my love for reggae music and culture grew.
My background in mixing began with D&B thru Jungle as part of the Peterborough D&B crew "System Abuse".
Now I'm going back to my "roots"...
