Dear Friends and listeners...
I am Dina Dunkelman-Kaplan, a.k.a La Chica Nueva. I play mixed grooves with a Latin-Caribbean - African emphasis. What people often call "Tropical" - but it's much more than that one word. it's a broad range from Acoustic to Folkloric to Electronic to Jazz.

Since June 2019, I found a niche on radio - Kol Ramat Hasharon, and played my show there exclusively.
I am grateful to have that spot, and expect to get back there within a few months.
So what prompted me to go Pro?

The main change is that I now have an option to make a few pennies out of this. With new online platforms such as Groover, I can curate wonderful music and make a buck or two from my passion, which is sharing music with the world.

Life happens, and I'm on birth leave.
Being that the radio studio is out of town and I'm pretty much homebound at this point with a new baby, I've had to take a hiatus not only from my daytime office job, but from radio as well... I've had to put any extra income from music editing on hold. But if I went on Mixcloud Pro, and with that be able to upload La Chica Nueva shows from home, I can keep sharing music and still gain that tiny bit of income.
And as we all know, rising prices and new babies mean that every penny counts.

So, expect new La Chica Nueva uploads very soon. I'll try to make it as frequent as a new parent can.
