Valentine Saunders aka Digital English
landed in NY from the UK in late April of 1977. Born to Caribbean parents of Jamaican descen, the young music enthusiast grew up surrounded by reggae music in his home. He migrated to NYC with 2 suitcases, one with clothes and the other with records.

He found reggae music in the NY area. After a few years he established a sound system and got a job in a record shop - Keith’s Records-on St. John’s place in Brooklyn in the area of Crown Heights in Brooklyn. He began to play Jamaican and English music was surprised when he began to draw large crowds in parties and dances. His first recording was influenced by King Jammys computerized rhythms. As a classically trained pianist it lured him to make his first recording “Stop your fussing and fighting” by Bugsy.

Encouraged by the enthusiasm, he made his second recording “Every man do his thing a little way different” with Trevor Sparks which was a massive hit in the UK. Searching for ——- ran by the gre
