Tucson’s own Spyder Rhodes is a renowned club and radio disc-jockey, mixologist, programmer and master musicologist. Since Club Congress first opened it’s doors in 1985, the multiple award winner (“Best Club DJ,” Tucson Weekly Best of Tucson), Spyder Rhodes has been packing dance floors as a guru of electronic music, Brit-pop, indie, alternative dance, 80’s underground dance music. With one foot in the past and the other in the future, Spyder has kept his finger on the pulse of both new and retro music trends, maintaining his legacy as Tucson’s very own voice for the dance underground. With his vast knowledge of 80’s music, Spyder surfed to the crest of the nostalgic New Wave retro-rock trend with his “Eat Your Eighties” program on KFMA from 1995 – 1998. Spyder’s packed dance nights, including THE NATION’S FIRST 80's underground dance night in 1993.
