DJ Defcon aka Philipp Wohlleben
German Hip Hop Pioneer DJ Defcon is one half of the Cologne-based Soundsystem, “Disco Diamant – Jewels Of The Dancefloor”. In the late 80’s he was a member of the groundbreaking band LSD, who put out the first German Hip Hop album: “Watch Out For the Third Rail”—sixty minutes of vinyl destined for cult status.
DJ Defcon plays gigs in clubs and special events such as for:
festivals, corporate events, art vernissages/finissages, film premieres, trade fairs etc.
As a lifelong digger, he is always on the hunt for obscure breaks – in every genre. He exchanges Hip Hop-production vinyl records and sampling source knowledge with legendary early oldschool Hip Hop formations such as the Cold Crush Brothers, DJ Outlaw in New York and members of Ex-Jazzanova, Berlin.
Defcon’s DJ-sets are a musical journey through myriad categories of groovy music: Boogie Disco Breaks, Oldschool Hip Hop, 80ies Electro, Latin, House Classics, Miami Bass, RockSoul und Funk.
