DJ Peckerwood

I was 15 when I walked into the Portland Club Plaza - an underage club like nothing I experienced before. The entry led into the dancefloor, which was full of kids just letting loose to early 80's music. The energy hit me like a wave.

On the 2nd floor overlooking the action was the DJ, controlling the mood of everyone in the room. I knew I wanted to be that guy.

Two years later I got a break. I was working security at Skoochies and one night they let me play a couple of songs. What followed was 16 years of playing new wave, alternative, progressive, hip hop, dance chart and open formats at clubs all over the West Coast and Southwest. I had a year of radio, and did a series of podcasts, called ReMatch, featuring 80's club hits.

Over the years, I DJ'd as Martyn, Peter Nash, and DJ Peckerwood. A decade later, I am glad to be back, playing locally in Las Cruces, NM.
