In early 1993, Fernando N. (aka DJ Darkshinobi) was introduced to the aggressive, fast-paced world of Hardcore Techno and instantly became hooked. His background in the New York Hardcore Punk scene, where he grew up listening to bands like Vision of Disorder, Madball, Subzero, Snapcase, Neglect, Shutdown, and Strife, made the distorted rhythms of Hardcore Techno feel like a natural fit. By 1996, after attending countless raves, Darkshinobi began collecting vinyl to experiment with local friends in the Long Island rave scene. In 1999, his skills gained recognition from local promoters, leading to bookings at house parties, underground raves, and outlaw events. It was at this point he decided to invest in his time, & marking the start of his commitment to DJing as a long-term goal. Since then, he’s never looked back, continuing to evolve and push his sound while staying true to his roots.
