Dean Dex is a Cape Town based DJ who started his DJ career at the tender age of 16. Coming from a music-orientated family and having almost 15 years’ experience, he specializes in Hip-Hop, RnB, Jazz-funk, pop and commercial.
Dean Dex has played alongside some of SA’s finest DJ’s; Ready D, Erefaan Pearce, Leighton Moody, DJ Fresh and Ganyani to name a few and has played at some of Cape Town’s hotspots such as Bunker9, Vacca Matta, Living Room, Hanover Street, Head Quarters, Chilli Bar, Cubana, Stones, Underground and also had a residency on ‘Nightfunk with Mixi’ on one of Cape Town’s leading radio stations; Goodhope FM. He also featured as a guest DJ on the 411 with Tyrone Paulsen as well as King of Club’s & Kinky Afro with Nigel Pierce.
With his technical and scratching ability, Dean Dex has the versatility to play all genres and doesn’t shy away from using the crowds’ energy to seamlessly switch between them.
