About The Artist -
David J Diamant was inspired by his father Michael and his cousin, New York urban photographer Mark Feldstein. Diamant took up photography as a hobby at a young age. When unable to photograph, Diamant would write down what he saw in a journal. Often Diamant would accompany the writings with small drawings so that he could more vividly remember what he saw. Eventually the drawings got larger until the page was dominated by not words but the images he saw around him. Diamant’s journal had inadvertently become a sketchbook. Over time his sketches would collide with aspects of photography, technology and acrylic paints to create the vibrant style that he now calls his own.
It wasn’t until five years ago that Diamant started calling himself an artist and holding his first exhibitions in his hometown of Santa Barbara, CA. You may have seen his other works at a variety of restaurants, wineries and galleries throughout the city. Today Diamant is displaying works from
