Jazz with David Basse began in a small studio in 2013, but the idea goes back much further. As a kid, my mix tapes were passed from car to car and became sing-alongs at the weekend party. A jazz musician myself, I wanted this music to reflect a cross section of tunes, including blues, funk, Latin and a healthy dose of what are referred to as jazz standards. Songs that I play get into my head, and, once they do, I like the next song to “make a case” for the song I just heard in order to continue the party in some new, surprising and undefined direction. Delighted to be here on Mixcloud and I humbly thank you for supporting this music I love so much. – DAVID BASSE
