Darryl-D was at an early age influenced by his parents with music. The Surinamese influences were the basis of his musical development. Soul, salsa, merengue reggea were the genres in which he grew up. In his teenage years, Darryl also came into contact with housemusic from the 90's, from hardcore to contemporary house & techno. In his clubbin period he liked to attend parties where all these music styles were played. Clubs such as the Now & Wow, Las Palmas, and the Power Zone were his favorite places. He dreamed of ever being on such a stage and began to learn DJing not long after he managed to had some gigs. Darryl played at many parties he was residence dj of the legendary Fullhouze Amsterdam parties. However, after a successful period, he decided to quit DJing due to circumstances. The last years it started to itch again and now he is determined to do what he likes the most that's 'entertaining people with his favorite music'.
