Darran has been honing his production craft since the late 90’s but it wasn’t until the early 00’s that his music started to garner some attention from likeminded labels and music producers. His first release was under the moniker of Aruba on a Swedish label called Clear Blu in 2000. A remix for Jordan Fields quickly followed when he submitted a remix to a competition Jordan had for his Headphoniq label in Chicago. Here his remix
featured in ‘This is House Music!’, a vinyl only compilation also featuring tracks by Ron
Trent, Boo Williams, Roy David Jnr., and Glenn Underground. Great company for a beginner. Another remix quickly followed on Toko recordings in Sheffield and another for Chicago native Daniell Spencer’s ‘Deep Freak’ for the Brique Rouge label out of Paris, run by David Duriez and Llorca. In 2002 Darran released the seminal ‘How Low Can You Go?’ on Germany’s Exun label and this track has stayed in record boxes ever since...
