1. I started deejaying at a young age doing parties with my father. I remember someone
asking what’s my DJ name and I didn’t have one as of yet. Actually, I never even thought
about creating a deejay name. To answer the question, I just said Danny and the asked
Danny what? The first thing that came to mind was DJ Danny Dee and I’ve been using
that name ever since. Then years later I was doing a party in Harlem and my friend’s
little brother said to me; you’re the Harlem Showstopper. I busted out laughing but I
liked the name so, I added that to my name. Now I’m DJ Danny Dee aka The Harlem
Showstopper.
2. I was born and raised in Harlem.
3. One summer there was a block party in my neighborhood and the DJ let me get on the
turntables. I was mixing and scratching like I’d never done before and the crowd was
going wild! The reaction I received from the crowd and respect from the community in
that moment pushed me to do this even more.
