CT2000 has been involved with dance music since his early teenage years, playing for his friends in his parents garage in the late 80s early 90s, moving to playing out in clubs thereafter .

In the 00’s CT launched the number 1 dance music news and reviews site - DanceNova and has contributed to a number of onsite, print and radio stations , including DJ Mag , BBC Radio One & Kiss FM .

CT DJ'ed on traditional and pirate FM radio as well as digital radio, and produced many guest mixes for the likes of Ibiza Live Radio , UM Records , Deep House Radio , Deep London among many many others.

How Do You Record Your Sets - Software Vs Hardware

I currently use the built in recording function of Serato to record my sets ,

I record in WAV 24bit I then do a simple "top and tail" in Audacity and export to 320kps MP3 . Upload this for mastering via LANDR and then finally upload the mastered version to Mixcloud.

Do you use a hardware recorder - e.g. Evermix maybe ? (https://evermix.fm/)
I notice they are about to release a new version (EvermixBox4)

What are the alternatives ,comment below on your workflow and tips.

I use Mixmeister and Traktor Pro to set up the mix and Audacity to overwiev and save it at 320 kps

I use the built in recording function of Serato too. I record in AIFF then convert to MP3 320kps to upload in Mixcloud and on my phone to listen when I want.

thanks Rick - interestingly why the preference of AIFF over WAV , especially if you're going to MP3 after ?

Has anyone used the TASCAM DR-40X for recording sets ?

I use a Tascam, direct jack output from my mixer. Ideal for vinyl. Upload straight to Mixcloud

Thanks Andy - I took the plunge and grabbed a tascam will see how we go. (Sorry I cant reply to your reply due to limits on posts here )
