Crwn (stylized as crwn) is the electronic music project of Manila-based producer, songwriter, and beat-maker King Puentespina. Known for his collaborative projects, most notably 2015’s How I Love and 2019’s Labyrinth with singer-songwriters Jess Connelly and August Wahh, respectively, his distinct sound intimates the rich, varied structures and sensibilities of dance and house music, as well as funk, hip-hop, and neo soul. His beat tapes, Tommy Gun (2016), Orchid (2018), and his collaborative album with Six The Northstar, Equinox (2022) encompass personal auditory journeys that export tempered styles: sophisticated yet accessible, patented yet also vigorously social. He has performed at major music festivals in the in and out of the country including Wonderfruit, Malasimbo, and Wanderland and has been widely featured at publications locally and abroad.
