For fans of the 4/4 beat, summer is defined by DJ mixes that go from the car to the beach to the patio with ease. Since most mixes are for the party or for the headphones — they’re meant to get you fired up or to soothe your soul, but not both. These days the seasons seem to be defined by huge music festivals filled with the rhythm. You may not be able to make it to the Greek isles, but here are some mixes that will put you in the right state of mind regardless of the particular summer environment, indoors or out.

Native to the west coast of British Columbia Craig Alan, also known as Exodus, spun techno and house at underground warehouse parties and clubs throughout western Canada.

Over a span of 16 years he opened for such international talents as Perry Farrell, Mauro Picotto, Marco Carola, Peter Hook of New Order, Rachel Auburn(UK), Chris Liberator(UK), Madame Zu(UK) and the Stanton Warriors to name a few.

I still enjoy making mixes and hope you enjoy them also.
