Vorselaar, Belgium

Coupé has been drawn to music that sounds like it comes from somewhere ahead of us since the nineties in Antwerp, when techno still felt like a message from the future. Detroit became his compass. It still is.

For more than 25 years he has been a DJ, producer and promoter. He co-founded Technoir, the underground techno affair that became one of the building blocks of the Belgian scene, and from there Pulse Festival, Raaskal and Face the Nation. His records have travelled from Fuse, Traum and Paradiso to Monox Club in Glasgow and Sunjam and Reef Festival in Honduras, and he has shared the booth with DJ Bone and Jeff Mills. In the studio everything is hardware: synths and drum machines, played by hand.

Tonos Cosmicos is his own internet radio station: deep, cosmic electronica, weird beats, long soundscapes, hypnotic rhythms and guests. Live every Thursday, 20:00–22:00 (Brussels time). coupé.eu/radio/tonos-cosmicos
