Originally from Switzerland, Cortega has seen his reputation grow as a DJ on the Afrobeat and House scenes in Washington, DC since 2005. He has played in major clubs in the region, including Cielo, U Street Music Hall, Thievery Corporation’s Eighteenth Street Lounge, the Warehouse:Loft among others. He has also performed at major events, like Miami’s Winter Music Conference (WMC) or Earth Dance.
In recent years, he has shared the decks with intl acts like Spinna, Black Coffee, Boddhi Satva, MiCasa, Maurice Joshua, Nickodemus, DJ Clock, Wiseacre, Sabo, Kimozaki, Oscar P, Mbuso, Green Giant, Voodoo Funk, Underdog, and Chris Burns to name a few.
In 2011, Cortega moved to Nairobi where he contributes to the development of the deep house scene. He tours globally with his ELECTRAFRIQUE party.
