Having grown up in Chicago in the 1990′s, Janea Taylor, a.k.a Commanda gained much exposure to house music, as well as Miami freestyle, which is where her love for dance music was born. It wasn’t long before Janea developed an interest in specific types of house music, one in particular being acid house. While searching for music within that genre, Janea stumbled upon another genre known as trance in the mid 90′s. In 1998, she saved up enough money from delivering pizzas to buy her first set of turntables and a mixer. Since then, she has narrowed her focus to mixing and producing primarily psychedelic and progressive trance music.
